There are pictures below to help you with measuring…
You can measure yourself, get a tailor, or someone else to measure you. It’s recommended that you use soft measuring tape that can easily bend with, and around your body…
circumfrence measurements
Go around your body with the measuring tape
1. waist circumfrence
Go around your body where you want your pants to sit. Low waist. High waist. Mid waist. Your choice, but your waist is “usually” the smallest area between your belly button and hip
In future measurements - whenever the waist is involved, always measure from the same area you took this measurement!!!
This is why you’ll see I put a string around this measurement
2.hip circumfrence
(Or Widest Part of your lower body)
Go around your body at the widest part of your pelvic region, depending on your body. This can be lower or higher. (Especially for women)
3.thigh circumfrence
Go around the widest part of your upper leg. Just underneath your crotch area
4. knee circumfrence
(bent knee)
Bent knee matters depending on the style of pant. If the fabric is not as stretchy. We will go with this measurement…
5. knee circumfrence
(straight knee)
Go around the middle of your knee. Depending on the style or fabric of pant. We will go with either the bent knee, straight knee, or in between
6. calf circumfrence
Go around the widest part of your calf. This helps us know more details on the taper, angle, or fit of your pant leg. Of course depending on the style and fabric
7. ankle circumfrence
Go around the widest part of your ankle. Usually where you can feel the bone above your foot… Depending on the style of pant - We may add a few inches so your foot can get through…
length measurements
Measure the front of your body with the tape - to the specific areas mentioned below
8. waist to hip length
This is where your initial waist measurement began. Then travels to the widest part of your hips, or lower body. This tells us the formation, or the foundation of your lower body, and how to form the pants
9. waist to crotch length
Starting at your waist, then travels to the beginning of your upper thigh area. Where the beginning of your pant legs, or inseams will start
10. waist to knee length
Starting at your waist to the middle of your knee. This along with knee to floor length. Tell us how long your legs are, or how long you want your pants to be…
11. knee to ankle/floor length
The middle of your knee. To wherever you would like your pants to be. This and “Waist to Knee” tells us the length of your pants.. If you want the pants to be longer. Add a few inches past your ankle. For example. Bell Bottoms and flowy pants usually have a longer length, Skinny pants usually go to your ankle. Depends on your taste
12. front rise
Your front and back rise make the encasement of your pants starting at the Perineum, or Gooch area
Similar, or aligned to where your crotch area, and upper thigh meet
Men, between your anus, and genitals
Women, between your anus, and vagina
Start the tape there and end where the front of your waistband would be on your pants
Make the tape looser or tighter on how you want your pants to fit
The start of the tape doesn’t have to be making contact with your skin. Your choice of fit
I believe my string moved lol. So I’ll probably go with 13 inches
13. back rise
Start the tape at the gooch, or perineum again, (aligned with the upper thigh) and run the tape to where you want the back of your pants to end
Similar to what we stated in the front rise. Adjust your fit and lengths as desired
I’ll go with 15 inches here
